Kid's Summer MMA Camp - Decatur, AL

The Camp will take place July 11-15 from 10am-1pm each day, and the cost is $100 per child and is intended for children ages 6-12. We will be fully staffed with experienced instructors ready to help your child have an incredible Martial Arts experience. Camp includes: -- 15 hours of training! -- Certificate of Completion! -- An opportunity to earn a Belt Stripe in our Martial Arts program! -- First month of Academy enrollment FREE (for new members)! -- A light lunch is included each day ATTIRE: Clean shorts and t-shirt or rashguard with finger and toe nails trimmed. Pants and tank tops will not be allowed. GOAL: To safely introduce new students to Martial Arts and the 10th Planet Decatur System of self-defense. Polish and expand the skills of students with previous experience. Improve conditioning, as well as listening skills. Empower and inspire participants to be assertive and confident and help prepare them for the new school year including how to deal with bullying, from preventing to properly engaging if necessary. CLASS FORMAT: Warm ups with plyometric exercises to help them develop/improve strength and coordination. Participants will learn and practice techniques on partners of equal size. Among the techniques they'll learn are: basic striking and clinching, takedowns and counters, escapes and reversals from their back, submission attacks and street self-defense techniques (head lock escapes, bear hug escapes, etc...) PS: Moderate to full resistance training will be allowed for qualified participants only. We will have a blast! Our Instructors are strict when it's time to practice, but always super friendly.
