TEEN LIFE SKILLS CAMP The goal of the Teen Life Skills Camp is to provide a non-threatening environment for the local youth to be active, to develop competence in life skills, to learn about themselves, to enhance their own abilities and provide a foundation for success in today's pressure-oriented society. The Teen Life Skills Camp, held annually since 2014, on Martin Luther King holiday weekend, in Pensacola, FL. This year the three day, two night interactive program will be on February 18th – 20th. This event focuses on principles of manhood and womanhood, cultural competence, personal skills, interpersonal communication skills, problem solving skills, teamwork and collaboration. Hosted by Forward Progression Project, this program includes a host of workshops that focuses on keys to manhood and womanhood, decision making, education, etiquette, personal responsibility, self-respect, positive peer to peer interaction, leadership, indoor and outdoor skills and the importance of nutrition and physical fitness. In addition, the participants are introduced to positive male and female role models who are leaders in various areas in their communities. Since 2014 50 teens from the local Pensacola area have attended the Teen Life Skills Camp. Target Audience: 40 - 50 youth (female and male) Ages 12 – 19 Youth in the Pensacola area Project Locations (three day event – Oak Grove Park Naval Air Station Pensacola, 18-20 February 2017, and time TBA)
