Backstage Scenery and Design Teen Camp - Kansas City, MO

Using a hands-on approach to stagecraft with an emphasis on construction and painting, students will learn shop safety, set design, and the correct use of drills saws, and other power tools. In addition, students will understand professional techniques for constructing flats and platforms, reading design plans, and rigging scenery to fly. Students will also learn methods for scene painting and working with color and texture as well as specialized construction techniques and troubleshooting solutions to tech problems. This camp is stand-alone, and is not tied to a live production. The week will culminate in a set design project.
