Teen Photo Camp - Wallingford, CT

This camp is for high school students who love photography! Whether you’ve never picked up a camera or take photos of your friends all the time, you’ll enjoy these classes! This beginner/ intermediate course will help you to refine your photography skills as well as your Photoshop/Lightroom skills. All class dates are listed below. Each class will consist of technical aspects about photography and a creative lesson. There will be weekly assignments only to help you grow as a photographer. Must have: Digital SLR camera and lens, notebook, pen Nice to have: laptop, external hard drive, Lightroom/Photoshop *** This Photo Camp is made up of 6 classes and one Open House Exhibition. The classes will be held on Mondays during the summer from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the Craftivate Studio. The Open House Exhibition will feature work from all photography related camps and classes running this summer and will take place on August 4th from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM with free admission. *** This camp is open to current high school students and those entering high school in the fall. WEEK ONE: 06/19/2017 Technical: Introductions Objectives: Getting to know your camera Assignment : Self Portraits WEEK TWO: 06/26/2017 Technical: ISO, Metering, Aperture, Focusing tricks Creative: Composition/Depth of Field Assignment: Rule of Thirds WEEK THREE: 07/10/2017 Technicals: Shutter Speed, Bulb, Low light, Raw vs. Jpgs Creative: Blur Action, Freeze Action, Paint at night Assignment: Motion WEEK FOUR: 07/17/2017 Technical: Settings for individual portraits/ group portraits Creative: Lighting Assignment: Portraits WEEK FIVE: 7/24/2017 Technical: Editing Creative: Portfolio Building Assignment: Your choice WEEK SIX: 07/31/2017 Technical: Portfolio Review Creative: Free shoot Open House Exhibition: August 4, 2017 from 6 - 10 PM At the completion of this photo camp, there will be an opportunity to display your work at a public art exhibit here in Wallingford. You will have the chance to participate in the planning and execution of this art exhibit where family and friends will be invited to view your work. Any funds raised through this exhibit will be donated to a local cause.
