Kid's Beginning Plyometrics Camp - Twin Falls, ID

The College of Southern Idaho is now taking registrations for Kid’s Beginning Plyometrics, Kid’s Intermediate Plyometrics, and Introduction to Strength Training for Young Athletes. All three camps will take place in CSI Gym 233. Students can register at www.csi.edu/communityed or by calling 732-6442. Kid’s Beginning Plyometrics, for 6 – 10 year olds, will run from 11 – 11:45 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 12 - July 19. The cost of the camp is $125. This camp is designed for kids who don’t want to lose their edge over the summer and wish to develop the skills and stamina to become better athletes. This conditioning program will focus on speed, strength, and explosiveness to enhance athleticism and will help young athletes develop the skills necessary for safe and effective sport participation. Instructor Travis Bunker is the strength and conditioning coordinator over all CSI athletics and will push campers to reach their potential. This class is for those with no/minimal experience and gives overall/general training to the athlete. Kid’s Intermediate Plyometrics, for 11 - 16 year olds, will run from 12 – 1 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 12 - July 19. The cost of the camp is $150. This camp will also focus on speed, strength, and explosiveness to enhance athleticism but is designed for older students with minimal to moderate experience and gives more specific/difficult training. Introduction to Strength Training for Young Athletes, for 11 - 16 year olds, will run from 1 – 2 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 12 - July 19. The cost of the camp is $150. This course will introduce the young athletes to safe exercises in the weight room taught by a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Travis Bunker. Young athletes will learn many different total body exercises to help strengthen and prevent injuries. The focus is not on “how much weight” or “maxing out” but how to do the exercises safely and with the correct form. This can be very beneficial to athletes going into or currently in high school to prepare for weight classes or continue what progress has been made during the school year.
