Tulsa Learning Community is an educational collaboration dedicated to the development of the whole person. We strive to nurture children's curiosity, build self-confidence and encourage creative and critical thinking skills. We believe that learning through direct experience fosters social and environmental responsibility while helping develop emotional and intellectual intelligence. We aim to provide opportunities for children to experience their full potential for living healthy lives filled with a sense of meaning, purpose and service to the common good. ****** Adaptive Roots is a method for delivering movement education. A mixture of Art Du Deplacement/Parkour, the Natural Method, creative contact, and advanced movement screening. The main focus of the practice is to empower the individual through movement. Learning practical movement skills in a wide range of environments is where we begin to enhance the mind body connection and open up new ideas and limitless possibilities that once were hidden. With scalable and progressive strength and conditioning routines we continuously challenge and increase our adaptability to the world around us. ****** Lydia Cheshewalla is an Osage artist living and working in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in painting and ceramics and has since expanded her artistic explorations into the worlds of fiber and ephemeral art. Her work focuses on blending traditional craft methods with modern material and process, keeping in mind sustainability and accountability. She draws inspiration heavily from her Indigenous background, referencing both earth and the unknown through repeated symbol and motif. Her work is created fluidly and intuitively, flowing from a primal place as an expression of her understanding and connection to the environment around her, and draws attention to the simple beauty of the natural world. ****** Josh Massad, Deena Burks, Marcia Beauchamp, Sarah Doll & Shela Tarwater Crump
