Fall Youth Camp - Poetry Jam - Morrisville, VT

Poetry Jam Not an ordinary poetry camp October 19 and 20, 9am-3pm Ages 9 and up / $95 Join us for an exciting 2-day camp exploring the intersections of poetry, theater, and play. Write your own rhymes full of alliteration, rhythm, and magical metaphors. “Act out” poems with big movement and a booming voice. Create solo or group performances of your own writing. And don’t forget to get silly! We’ll spend plenty of time outside connecting with a playful muse. Who says poetry has to be serious? At the end of camp, it's Rhyme Time: our very own finale slam featuring camper's playful poems. Instructor bio: Poet Lizzy Fox holds an MFA in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She coaches high school competitors for Poetry Out Loud, directs school plays, and has taught writing and performance in partnership with Flynn Arts, The New England Young Writers Conference, VSA Vermont, and countless schools.
