Join us as we rock climb and paddle near the scenic Palo Pinto Mountains. First we’ll head over to Penitentiary Hollow in Mineral Wells State Park for some rock climbing on unique sandstone formations. Next, we’ll drive over to the Upper Brazos River at the base of Possum Kingdom Lake to begin a 3 day overnight canoe camping trip. We’ll paddle past scenic granite cliffs and narrow canyons on a 20 mile remote stretch of river. This river is known for good fishing and great sandbar camping spots. We will provide all of the camping and technical gear (tents, sleeping bags, climbing gear, canoes, paddles and life jackets). We will also provide meals when we are not travelling. You will need to bring personal gear and money for 2 meals on the road (about $20). Parents: Your child will have the opportunity to observe and practice good outdoor judgement and decision making skills. Please note the trip is physically and mentally demanding. Please assess your child’s ability before signing them up.
