Session 1: Monday, July 9 – Saturday, July 14 OR Combined Session 1 & 2: Monday, July 9 – Saturday, July 21 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. ET Open to boys and girls, ages 14-18 Session 1 Cost: $150 Combined Session 1 & 2 Cost: $275 In this immersive, service-learning experience, participants will explore social issues affecting the Indianapolis community and participate in at least two local service projects with organizations addressing those issues–and that’s just the first week! During the second week of activities, participants will journey to New Orleans and be immersed in a cultural experience where they will learn about the history of the city & be exposed to social issues affecting the communities in New Orleans. Participants will gain awareness of differences between people and recognize the value of serving the community at large; proactively create positive social interactions between peers through mentoring and relationship building; gain more self-confidence and better self-image; and learn techniques to be more empathetic and tolerant of others.
