2018 Youth Jazz Orchestra Camp - Charleston, SC
A week of jazz playing that will change your life! The Charleston Gaillard Center’s Youth Jazz Orchestra, led by Charlton Singleton, promotes instrument mastery (with seven guest teachers), history of jazz, and gives students the opportunity to perform in the Martha and John M. Rivers Performance Hall alongside a musical guest during the Gaillard’s 2017-18 season. The Gaillard Jazz Camp gives students the musical tools to become a great player. Full ensembles and small groups give every student the maximum experience in just one week of summer jazz study. You’ll learn improvised solo skills, styles, and play timeless jazz standards under the guidance of our teaching-artist faculty.
