COSPLAY SUMMER CAMP in the Fab Lab, superhero, villains, gaming, gamers

If you're between the ages of 8 and 14, then we want you to join the ranks of our Cosplay Club of Lake Michigan College for this special week.  Each day, you'll be embarking on an adventure through the lives our Cosplay club members. They'll teach you how to make Cosplay costumes, learn to sew, paint, 3D print and you'll probably have a little laser cutting in there as well.  The Fab Lab is a place where students can build science, technology, engineering and math skills through hands on learning. Participating in Fab Lab activities allow students to explore and experiment with digital fabrication technology including 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, and Vinyl Cutters. The Cosplay camp will meet Monday through Thursday from 1:30pm until 4:30 pm.  Open lab time will immediately follow the camp, so participants will have the option to stay if they would like to work on other projects in the Fab Lab (charges may apply for 3D printing and other items that are not included in this camp). Parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and other friends are encouraged to stop by or hang out with the campers during the open lab time. This camp will be put on by the Cosplay Club at Lake Michigan College. During this week long camp, each participant will create their own Super Hero, Super Villain, or Gaming character along with their own unique costume.  From creating your own masks, capes and props for each newly created character, the camper will certainly enjoy this creative and fun week. You will learn how to run the lasers, 3D printers, vinyl cutters and sewing machines during your time in the Fab Lab. Our camps are designed for the participants to learn to come up with problem solving techniques and "make things". Sometimes, this involves failing, returning to the original concept and trying again.  We want to create an environment of trying, re-thinking the process, and trying again to make the design better.  We believe this approach encourages creative thinking and determination in addition to exposing them to new technologies.  Registration for this camp closes one week prior to allow time to purchase required materials.  Registration is limited to the first 10 participants.   Once registered, you'll receive an email asking for the participant(s) name, age, and gender for our instructor's roster.  If you have questions, please email them to [email protected]
