Featured activities will include live concert stage performances; a daily schedule of children and family movie showings (in the Sage Park auditorium & cafeteria); a robotics lab (in the high school); “Food truck row” and other food vendors; workshops; games and family friendly competition for all ages. All event activities will take place on the fields of the Windsor Athletic Complex and buildings of the Windsor High School and Sage Park Middle School. The event is designed to: 1. Engage our families in a fun, interactive event to celebrate the completion of another school year. 2. Showcase the phenomenal works and programs of our students and student organizations completed during the school year. 3. Serve as a Foundation and District fundraiser to provide additional programming and services in Windsor that, "Service youth, strengthen families and uplift communities." 4. Support Windsor Athletics, and 5. Promote the ideals of education and learning in innovative ways. The signature feature for the festival is the overnight camping experience. Families who register for the overnight camp will be assigned a camp space to pitch a tent on the Sage Park athletic fields, receive meal tickets to use with the food vendors and have access to a number of bonus activities (including a late-night bonfire). The festival will include the 1st annual Mother-Child Athletic Challenge in which mothers and children will compete for prizes and bragging rights in a friendly competition. The challenge will feature five fun but competitive events that will be held on the football and track area of the athletic complex during the family festival. The challenge will award the top five finishers in every event as well as the top five overall winners. Competing categories will be organized based on the different age ranges and categories (mother-son/mother-daughter) of the child. The challenge is open to grandmothers, godmothers or other persons who may be a legal guardian of the child.
