Boys and girls everywhere are anxiously awaiting summer. With the season comes eight one-week sessions of inexpensive vacation fun at Hartford County 4-H Camp located in Marlborough, Connecticut. Hartford County 4-H Camp, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides a fun, safe, healthy, and enriching outdoor experience for young people with a “Learning by Doing” philosophy. Through 4-H principles, we endeavor to foster personal growth in an atmosphere of stewardship for the individual, the community, and the Earth. Our camp has been in existence for over 80 years. In 1966, the Board of Trustees established the Marlborough site and Hartford County 4-H Camp has been encouraging youth development in Marlborough ever since. Whether your child comes to our “Bring Your Own Horse” Camp, Mini Camp, or Traditional Camp, they will leave with memories, friendships, and leadership skills that will last a lifetime. The camp is situated on 100 acres and includes the following facilities: Baldwin Hall, which includes a dining hall that seats up to 266, as well as a lower recreation and workshop area; ten girls’ and six boys’ cabins, with each cabin area containing a lavatory with sinks, flush toilets, and showers; a camp director’s cabin; amphitheater; horse barns for 48 horses plus a staff horse shelter; four riding rings; the Grant House, a combined staff living area, infirmary, and cook’s quarters; four-bay garage; refrigerator/freezer building; and nature center. The caretaker’s residence is at the entrance to the 4-H camp.
